BASIC TRAINING

Basic training is essential in many areas of our lives, particularly where dangers are involved. To be taught when to do something, how and what to do , and more importantly what not to do can keep us safe.

It sounds crazy but if you ask people how they started with horses they would say "I sat on a horse and off i went". Needless to say with very little knowledge of what they were doing and very little understanding of horses. Plus being completely oblivious to the fact a horse has a brain and can often see things differently to the human on their back. This is called "Wing and a Prayer" method and is still the preferred choice of many riders today.

At Unity we have proved time and time again that basic training is essential, incorporating safety, understanding and communication, it lays down a solid foundation to work from. It helps eliminate issues, prevents many problems and allows horse riding to be what is should be, enjoyable and fun.
